Harm reduction/refusal to name the agent. Pseudo-medical treatment needed after menstruation, douching and intercourse. Everyone (or almost everyone) accepts by now that douching is harmful to women, and damages the vaginal environment. We have yet to come to the same conclusion with intercourse — even though the parallels are painfully obvious; in this case, intercourse is damaging to the vaginal environment.
